Utah’s One Thing: Scott Parker, Salt Flats Brewing

Standard

Since we started our show in 2016, we have been asking our guests at the end of every New Utah interview, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

We were fortunate to have three of the amazing team members of Salt Flats Brewing sit down with us for episode 141. Scott Parker, master brewer, told us that his one thing that he would tell someone to do while visiting Utah is of course drink Salt Flats Beer! Scott told us it is awe-inspiring rolling into the valley and mountains just pop up. You are 20 minutes away from amazing hiking, biking, and skiing and it’s just right in front of you.

Utah’s One Thing: Mike of Humans of Salt Lake

Standard

Since we started our show in 2016, we have been asking our guests at the end of every New Utah interview, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Normally Mike is the one sitting down to hear people’s stories in Salt Lake. But this time we got him to sit down with us, as the founder of Humans of Salt Lake, for episode 108. Mike spends a lot of time in Salt Lake and his one thing that someone should do when visiting Utah is to read up on Salt Lake City and on Utah. Mike said don’t come to Utah with a closed mind and narrow expectations. Mike also said don’t be afraid to walk around.

GPSmycity has a great app that you can create your own walking tours around Salt Lake City. Or, you can just put on your shoes and find your way around. It is really easy, as everything is laid out in block.

Since we started our show in 2016, we have been asking our guests at the end of every New Utah interview, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Episode 126 we had the honor of sitting down with Derek Kitchen, Senator for District 2. Derek had a great list of things that he would tell someone visiting Utah that they must do before leaving! Derek’s first item would be to visit Utah’s cultural arts. He said to visit the Granary Row district mural program. Derek said you have to visit Utah’s Brewery’s (the link is just a handful of breweries that exist in Utah) and partake in some of Utah’s own cocktails. Also, head over to Temple Square and visit Space Jesus… aka the Christus statue of Jesus in the visitor center. But we most definitely prefer Space Jesus.
