Why we love them: Sugar House Distillery has created a grain to glass product that is few and far between in Utah. They are distilling from local grains and in creating this grain to glass spirit, after 5 years of production they continue to staying true to their vision and to themselves. On top of creating a pure product, they support local business, they are involved in community events, they stay small batch and handcrafted, and their products are super delicious to boot!

Who they are:

When James Fowler received federal approval to start Sugar House Distillery in 2013, his goal was to create a line of true grain-to-glass spirits. Choosing only the finest ingredients available in the industry—such as Grade A molasses for rum and locally-grown corn to make bourbon—the distillery team has made quality sourcing a priority from the start. In addition to hand-selected commercial yeasts for fermentation, senior distiller Eric Robinson has cultivated proprietary yeast strains at the distillery, further enhancing the aroma and depth of flavor evident in Sugar House Distillery products. Our experienced distilling team carefully monitors and balances the profile of each spirit every step of the way, taking only the vibrant heart of the spirit run, and bottling to proof in our distillery with the purest mountain water.

Sugar House Distillery sources the highest quality ingredients available in the industry. We use only Grade A molasses for making rum, 100% malted barley for our Malt Whisky, and regionally-sourced corn, barley and rye for our bourbon. Our experienced distilling team carefully monitors and balances the profile of the spirits every step of the way, hand-selecting yeasts for fermentation, taking only the vibrant heart of the spirit run, and bottling to proof in our distillery with the purest mountain water. At Sugar House Distillery, we take pride in knowing that the bottle you will hold in your hands has had the full and undivided attention of our distillers from start to finish. No additives. No artificial colors or flavors. Never chill filtered. Just grain or molasses, yeast, and time; finished with a little water and a lot of skill.
