Standard

Since we started our show in 2016, we have been asking our guests at the end of every New Utah interview, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

We were so lucky to sit down with Poet and Activist, Saida Dahir before she is heading off to change the world at college! Episode 157 Saida told us that picking one thing to do in Utah while visiting is hard… She said that when your visiting you need to see all the coffee shops in Salt Lake City! She said we have a huge amount and one of her personal favorites is Sugarhouse Coffee!

Episode 149 we sat down with Utah Cheese Awards and Salt Lake Cheese Festival founder, Steve Jerman. We asked him what he would have someone visiting Utah should do and he told us that they should head to Gilgal Sculptural Gardens! We’ve only had two other guests that have mentioned this hidden gem in Salt Lake City. He said it is so cool! Steve thinks all great artists like to see the weird and pristine, and that it is quite a production to build brick pants!

Utah’s One Thing: Mike of Humans of Salt Lake

Standard

Since we started our show in 2016, we have been asking our guests at the end of every New Utah interview, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Normally Mike is the one sitting down to hear people’s stories in Salt Lake. But this time we got him to sit down with us, as the founder of Humans of Salt Lake, for episode 108. Mike spends a lot of time in Salt Lake and his one thing that someone should do when visiting Utah is to read up on Salt Lake City and on Utah. Mike said don’t come to Utah with a closed mind and narrow expectations. Mike also said don’t be afraid to walk around.

GPSmycity has a great app that you can create your own walking tours around Salt Lake City. Or, you can just put on your shoes and find your way around. It is really easy, as everything is laid out in block.
