Utah’s One Thing: PSarah Johnson, Utah Women Unite

Standard

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Psarah Johnson of Utah Women Unite had us in her home for episode 39. After moving away from Utah and then moving back, Psarah said that the one thing someone visiting Utah should see are our mountains. It is what brings her back. Psarah also mentioned the vistas down in Bryce Canyon!

Local Utah solo artist and guitarist for Folk Hogan, Nick Passey, visited our studio for episode 37. Nick suggested that the one thing that people visiting Utah should do is get into the sub-culture and find like minded people. Visit clubs, find the music scene, and drink Utah Alcohol.

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

When Jennifer and Derek Williamson of Olio Skin and Beard Co. visited us for episode 36, they didn’t even pick the same spot!

Derek said the one thing you should do when visiting Utah is go to Southern Utah to see the red rocks. The includes 5 national parks that stretch across the south of the state.

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Our favorite (we are totally biased) and most dedicated fact-checker and listener, Miss Harry-It Winston of episode 31, said that the one thing someone should do when visiting Utah is drive through the Trappers Loop to Eden to Monte Cristo to Woodruff Utah, Randolph to Laketown to Garden City and Logan canyon.

Utah’s One Thing: Oskar and Julia

Standard

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Episode 21, Oskar and Julia’s said their one thing that they would tell people they must do when visiting Utah is: go on a hike!! Julia knows it’s generic, but her reasoning is perfect! She explains that being in LA people always wanted to go on “hikes” and all they were going on were just hills. Oskar and Julia mention the beautiful Ensign Peak.

That’s “Mou-un”, we think that is phonetically how you pronounce “mountain” in Utah?

Utah’s One Thing: Holly Gates-Rohde Paranormal Illumination Society

Standard

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

We didn’t get her answer on her episode, but our regular guest host and co-founder of the Paranormal Illumination Society, Holly Gates-Rohde of episode 22 (and others) said that the one thing she thinks someone should do before leaving Utah is: a visitor would need to go up any of the canyons in the fall to see the amazing colors. My favorite is Spanish Fork canyon. Or to head up to Kamas in the fall and go to Hi Mountain Drug Store. They have the best burgers and you get to see the amazing fall foliage.

Utah’s One Thing: Hraefn Wulfson

Standard

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Hraefn Wulfson in episode 20 suggested that the one thing to do in Utah when visiting is to look at what makes the historical foundations of Utah, but look at it from an archaeological perspective. The things that are here, that are part of the founding culture, are very interesting from an anthropology point of view. The temple is a unique piece of architecture and when you think of how it is made it gives a different perspective on Utah. And what better way to know about it’s history, than to go to Temple Square.

Also, stop at the Salt Flats!
