Utah’s One Thing: Richie T. Steadman DJ, Actor, Podcaster, and RFH Producer,

Standard

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

We were super excited to finally be joined by the busiest man on the planet for episode 57. We actually didn’t think there was anyone busier than our own Jessica, til we met Richie Steadman! Richie had two things that people must do before leaving Utah. Richie said that if you’re visiting Utah, take time to talk to someone who is LDS (aka Mormon) because it will give a better understanding of the culture. He also said head south and hike the Narrows in Zion and the Delicate Arch.

Utah’s One Thing: Peter Donegan of The Sod Show

Standard

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

This is a special edition Utah’s One Thing. In March, Utah was graced with one of Ireland’s top podcaster’s, Peter Donegan, of The Sod Show. We haven’t been able to have him on the show yet, but he did send in a special request for the one thing someone must do before leaving Utah.  Episode 45 we were able to do this one thing for him! (you can find him on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)

Hidden in the middle of two buildings down 5th south and by 7th east in downtown Salt Lake, that if you blinked you would miss, is the Gilgal Sculptural Gardens. A beautiful outdoor space that is unique to Utah. If you’ve seen a sphinx head of Joseph Smith floating around the internet, this is where you will find it in real life.

Designed and created by Thomas Battersby Child, Jr. in the mid-twentieth century. The Gilgal Sculpture Garden contains 12 original sculptures, 70+ stones engraved with scriptures, poems, and literary texts.

It is open to the public seven days a week. There is no admission charge. Walking tour brochures are available at the garden. Visiting hours: April/September – 8 am to 8 pm October/March – 9 am to 5 pm Closed New Year Day; Thanksgiving; Christmas.

Standard

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Episode 41 we were pleased to have British author Tracey Rolfe back with us. It is always fun to hear what people who moved to Utah or are visiting have to say that their one thing that you must do before leaving Utah is. Tracey loves our mountains oh, and even though it’s not unique to Utah, she loves the Cheesecake Factory! We will give her a pass on that one because it is her favorite. You can find the Utah locations in Murray and in Downtown Salt Lake City.

Utah’s One Thing: David J. West

Standard

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Utah Author David J West of episode 34 suggested that the one thing someone should do before leaving Utah is just to drive to the middle of nowhere. We definitely have a lot of  “nowhere” here in Utah.  Another great spot that David suggested is the San Rafael Swell located in the south east part Utah.

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Val Cameron-Walker of Ep.33 told us that her one thing to do in Utah is to head to Brighton in the summer time.  You might be thinking, a ski resort in the summer? Whether you like to hike, bike, or just need a stay-cation. The lifts might not operate, but there are beautiful trails, lakes to dip your toes in, resorts to stay in, and restaurants to enjoy.
