We live in a time right now where CBD and medical marijuana is a daily conversation. Whether you know someone who uses it, or perhaps you are using it for ailments. VP of North American sales, Crystal McMullin, of local cannabinoid company Sucavu joined us for episode 191 for a good educating sit down. But really ,she is so much more than just that title. You’ll see what we mean when you take a listen below.
The story of Sucavu started with an interaction with an old school pharmacist. Not the Walgreens type, but a true mixologist. The name is an homage to Crystal’s’ father who had an auto immune disorder, but because of the products is in remission. Right now, CBD is legal in Utah and the regulation on medical marijuana is beginning. However, plan on it being a slow and very bumpy, pot hole filled, road ahead. *Maybe pun intended* That being said, there are many CBD/CBG products out there that are not true products. This can lead to issues such as CBD poisoning. Our educational trip with Crystal started with Sucavu’s hemp farm, also known as cannabinoids, and learning it was the first to be licensed in Utah. Their seeds are from Europe and is a trademarked strain. There is a lot of technical definitions that Crystal walks us through. Did you know there isn’t a US Organic certification for hemp? Did you know that the hemp plant is so sensitive that it pulls in the toxins of the soil it exists in, so growing has to be done incredibly careful?
Sucavu is regulated, just like any other farm. There are certain guidelines and if those aren’t followed, it can be seized. Sucavu is only sold online because of other regulations and difficulties in banking, etc. Some of their products include; tinctures, gummies, honey taffy, coffee, bath bombs, skin care, and chocolate to name a few. But what does it all do? Crystal walked us through some of the testimonials on our show. The biggest thing is to educate yourself if you decide that cannabinoids are going to be part of your health regiment. Every person will dose different and every product will react different with a persons own make up.
