Episode 194 Presenter Evolution

Standard

Episode 194 we sat down with the “Thomas Edison of presenting…” Mike Brian. We had read that quote prior to Mike Brian, Partner/CEO at Penna Powers, sitting down with us and were curious to the reference. As soon as Mike opened his mouth and started telling us about his journey, and basically revolutionizing presenting, we knew why it applied!

Mike might be representing Penna Powers which has been known for their marketing campaigns for events such as the Utah Winter Olympics, local grocer Harmon’s, UCAIR’s snowblower exchange program, and other notable Utah campaigns. While this is all exciting and such, Mike’s story BEFORE he got to Penna Powers is where the magic happens. Mike’s passion for presenting is evident as soon as he starts talking. His Thomas Edison status comes in when he figures a way to streamline clunky presentations. Mike tells us how presentations are like movies and how he had his “ah-ha” moment which propelled him into the move from slides to pre-PowerPoint presenting. After years of evolving his way of presenting, Mike is now presenting his brand new book, Presenter Evolution. Mike has broken down presenting into 5 important categories; confidence, passion, preparation, control, and connection. Mike told us that when you practice something wrong, you perfect that. His book is a way to undo those practices.

*You’ll have to get the book to find out how these apply every day!*

Why are all these important? Because Mike is on a mission to get rid of awful presentations by awesome people! Mike doesn’t want presenters to “erode their equity by opening their mouths.” Mike’s passion found its way into his book, offices around the country, and now he will be offering presentations to the general public for three specific dates.

Mike has offered our listeners a discount code PZNEWUT15 it will get you or anyone else that is interested a 15% discount for the upcoming seminars – March 19, 26 and April 2 at the Miller Free Enterprise Center at Salt Lake Community College.
