The New Utah Podcast recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary! Episode 52 we each thought we should do our “one thing” someone visiting Utah should do before leaving!

Jeremy didn’t hesitate in offering up Utah’s ghost towns as the one thing that people should do when visiting Utah. There are plenty to explore. Some in ruins and some still standing. With a list of over 50 they span the entire state! You can take a day trip or make a weekend of it!

Jessica’s one thing turned into like, a whole day of one things! Basically Jessica’s one things all revolve around local eateries! Jessica says that you should start our your day with breakfast at either Hub & Spoke Diner or Penny Ann’s Cafe. Enjoy lunch at either Village Baker or Groves Market & Deli. Grab a cookie at RubySnap, or two, or three… Take a drive up the Alpine loop and finish in Springville at Treasures Antique Mall and then have some dinner at India Palace in Provo.

Utah’s One Thing: New Utah Host, Chris

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

The New Utah Podcast celebrated our 1 year anniversary recently. During episode 52 we each thought we should do our “one thing” someone visiting Utah should do before leaving! Chris said that someone visiting Utah should head to The Chocolate. They have two locations, one in Orem and one in West Jordan.

Chris was very specific that you must visit the West Jordan location. He also said that you need to try skiing and/or snowboarding, cause Utah!

Utah’s One Thing: Alan Scott of WaterPocket Distillery

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Episode 51 Alan Scott, of the brand new and shiny Waterpocket Distillery, told us that the one thing that people should do when visiting Utah is to head to Capitol Reef to his business name sake, the Waterpocket Fold.  He described it as a “miracle at your finger tips,” and “world class landscape.” And if you are short on time Alan did suggest heading up Little Cottonwood Canyon!

Utah’s One Thing: Victor of Bumblebee’s KBBQ

When we had Victor of BumbleBee’s KBBQ for epsiode 49, he made us all laugh by starting his one thing in Utah off by saying how little of a night life there is in Utah. Victor did say the given, Temple Square. But then there was a little light that went off. Victor said the one thing you must do before leaving a visit to Utah is to head to Strawberry Reservoir or Mirror Lake and fish!

Utah’s One Thing: Dash Cox, Title Boxing Cottonwood Heights.

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Dash Cox of Title Boxing in Cottonwood Heights visited us for episode 47  and as a guest co-host for episode 107. Dash said his one thing that people should do when visiting Utah is to go hiking! He said head to Zion where you get three s’s, “spiritual,” “surreal,” and “serene.”

He also said to take a ride to Buffalo Island, AKA Antelope Island. Also, Lagoon is NOT his thing.

During episode 45 Chanda Chuon told us that the one thing that people should do when visiting Utah is make sure to buy liquor before you come to the state… yea we know, we know… But Chanda also said to head to Southern Utah for some hiking!
