Utah’s One Thing: Su, Ron, and Bernie, of Summum

Standard

Since we started our show in 2016, we have been asking our guests at the end of every New Utah interview, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Episode 184 we took a field trip to the Summum Pyramid in Salt Lake City and had a chat with Su, Bernie, and Ron. When we asked them what the one thing someone should do when visiting Utah is, Ron and Bernie both warmly said visit Summum! Su said that you should go hiking. We agree with both! Here’s a link to one of our favorite websites, Utah.com, for some hiking suggestions.

Utah’s One Thing: Denver Brady, Salt Flats Brewing

Standard

Since we started our show in 2016, we have been asking our guests at the end of every New Utah interview, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Denver Brady, who is directing sales, at Salt Flat Brewing also joined us for episode 141! Denver told us when we asked what the one thing someone visiting Utah would be, “Utah is vast. There are 1000 things in my mind.” She said that she lived by the Appalachian mountains and commented that “those are hills.” Denver thinks the Rocky Mountain range is unlike anything else. We would like to add, there are plenty opportunities to enjoy our mountain ranges from hiking, camping, biking, fishing, etc. Utah.com and Alltrails.com have some great resources for Utah’s mountains.

Utah’s One Thing: Utah Liquor Lawyer Tanner Strickland Lenart

Standard

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Utah Liquor Lawyer, Tanner Strickland Lenart, joined us for episode 96! What would someone who knows the Utah restaurant and bar scene suggest for someone visiting Utah who only needed one thing to do? Well, Tanner said that the one thing someone visiting Utah should do before leaving is to get up into the mountains regardless of the season! You heard that folks head to the hills! Tanner said to make sure to experience side trails when you go hiking. We found a great resource for Utah trails on alltrails.com They offer a map that zooms in and out on hikes around the state. This map also gives the difficulty level of the hike, searchable options by city, printable maps, etc. Once you are on these trails then find your side trails! *but be respectful of the nature you’re walking through and be prepared*

Episode 78 we had “no regerts” with local Utah tattoo artist Sam Goodwin of Murder Crows Tattoo in North Sale Lake! Sam said that his one thing someone should do before leaving Utah is to go to Temple Square… of course. Then he told us that he and his wife love to hike. We loved his suggestion of finding a trail that goes some where! You know, a lake, a river, just something at the end to enjoy! Utah.com always has great lists and their hiking list will get you all over Utah. Click HERE to find more info or click on the picture.

Utah’s One Thing: Oskar and Julia

Standard

At the end of every New Utah interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Episode 21, Oskar and Julia’s said their one thing that they would tell people they must do when visiting Utah is: go on a hike!! Julia knows it’s generic, but her reasoning is perfect! She explains that being in LA people always wanted to go on “hikes” and all they were going on were just hills. Oskar and Julia mention the beautiful Ensign Peak.

That’s “Mou-un”, we think that is phonetically how you pronounce “mountain” in Utah?

Utah’s One thing: Travis Tate

Standard

At the end of every New Utah podcast interview we like to ask our guests, “What is the one thing that you would tell someone visiting Utah they had to do before leaving?”

Travis Tate from our episode 12 said that one thing a visitor should do in Utah before leaving is that anyone visiting Utah must get with someone who knows what they are doing and go hiking in the Uinta’s. The amazing views you will get, make sure to take you camera. It’s a good place to just clear you head. Ps. There is NO cell service up there.
